'Words of Wisdom'

Image
'Words of wisdom' are not to scare you, but just to make you aware.  Do not be confined to the four walls of fear and obstacles, but break the shackles and become the real performers, real doers. Many will tell you to quite that 'Attitude', but a positive attitude and self-respect should be your first priority.  However, don't ever forgo empathy and compassion. Give and receive support along the way, be patient and persevere through the ups and downs. Most importantly, learn to enjoy the journey you are about to embark upon.  -Harshita Saloni

I encourage us all to continue to think of innovative ways in which we can advance gender equality and the empowerment of women. Happy international women’s day to myself and all the Queens out there The world is yours. -Harshita Saloni

#SayNoToWar

Image
People out there and friends have been sending me news clips of the attack and has been asking for my opinions about everything that’s going on. Well, firstly I don’t feel the need to state my views publicly because will it change anything? NO. And those of you who know me, will know that I will never celebrate WAR. It’s easy to sit in  the comfort of our homes and celebrate the attack, ask for war, seek revenge. Put whatsapp stories and statuses, forward whatsapp messages, and share your so called happiness all over social media. The way our soldiers were killed broke my heart. They way we lose people in our borders or other terror attacks breaks me equally. But people have forgotten that we are fighting terrorism. And WAR isn’t the answer. Violence is never the answer. If government is failing at bringing peace between two countries through peace talks and discussions, it’s their failure. That doesn’t mean, discussions and peace talks aren’t the solution. #Humanityf...

Revel in the chance to create the life you want to live

Image
Successful people change the world with their decisions and  unsuccessful people change their decisions by fear of the world.  Do not ever think that what the world will think! Just do your work. If you choose to  confront the options before you with courage and confidence, you open yourself to a fulfilling path of your own design, filled with numerous possibilities. Rather than procrastinate in fear of making the wrong decision, weigh your options and act on the best one. -Harshita Saloni

Be merry.

Image
This is not about good behavior but about being merry, seeing the beauty and goodness of life, in spite of all the bad stuff . It is painful when what we love or value is taken away, yet the longing for what we know is good continues to call us into life. This season is honoring the return of the light and the new beginnings it portends. It’s a good time to consider what aspects of our celebrations we really care about, what helps us connect with something greater than ourselves, how we can best show our love, what gives this season meaning, and where in it we find beauty and light. Maybe it’s possible to let go of the pressure we put on ourselves to produce wonder and delight, and be more open to the real experience of it. May that light shine out from the heart of all our celebrations. -Harshita Saloni

Roots and Values!

Image
Importance of root as a major determinant of the success or otherwise of any tree or person cannot be overemphasized. And root quality is further determined by its nature (tap or fibrous), which further determines how much minerals/nutrients they could tap from the soil or social network in case of persons. While plants may not be able to do much to enhance their roots, individuals can through knowledge and skill acquisition. What you are and where you came from, keeps us grounded and we need our individual differences and unique perspectives to be able to see through, understand and love this complex world as it is. Never forget where you came from – because that will help you get where you’re going. -Harshita Saloni
